Agnipath Scheme

About this scheme

The Agnipath Scheme was launched in 2022 by the government of India. Its aim is to take individuals for Army ,Navy and Air-force. The selected candidate are known as Agni-veers.

1. Qualification-

a)He/She must be an Indian.

b)He/She must pass 12th exam with 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline.

c)Age must be 18 to 23 years.

d)There is no entrance test.

2.Tenure-

It is for 4 years.

3.Objectives-

a. It is an opportunity for youth.It gives employ-ability .

b. It gives military discipline,motivation,skills and physical fitness.

c. It gives good financial package.

d. It makes better and confident citizen.

4.Benefits.

a. Salary package is 30 to 40 thousand.

b. The agneepath retirees will get Rs.12 Lakh to start their new life.
c. Agniveers will receive a skill set certificate.
d. Upto 25% of Agniveers would be selected for the enrollment in permanent Cadre.
e. They will be given preference while recruiting in the state police.
f. They will given 10%reservation in Indian Coast Guard and Ministry of defense.
g. A 3 year technical programme will introduce by the Union Ministry of Education.
h. They will get honors and awards.
i. They will not contribute to PPF.
j. They will get allowances for hardship,ration,dress and travel.
k. Agniveer will receive 30 days of yearly leave and additional 30 days of yearly leave and. additional sick days.
l. They are eligible for medical care at military hospital.
m. They will get a non contributory life insurance policy of 48 lakhs

n. 10% reservation of Agni-veers in CISF
